The artist in our family…

It’s an awesome moment in parenting when your child can draw things that you can actually identify. For years I have been saying, “Uhm…how about you tell me about the picture?” when I really wanted to say, “What the heck is that blob you just drew in the center of the page that looks like poop??”

And now, that glorious moment has arrived for me with my 4-year-old daughter. She draws suns and moons, she draws flowers and houses.  And most importantly, she draws Ariel, The Little Mermaid.

Now I understand why Prince Eric liked her so much when she couldn’t even speak…

  1. I remember those days when Allie would give me a picture and I would have to guess. It is so nice when they draw something that doesn’t need instructions.
