Welcome Liv, Laugh, Love - We’re happy to have you Inside the Blogger’s Studio. This series is a way to get to know other bloggers, while also getting a glimpse into the life of a fellow parent. Who doesn’t love feeling like they aren’t the only ones going crazy??? And remember, because it’s gotten to be a crowd favorite, it’s now happening twice a month. Look for it the first and third Monday of each month where we’ll feature a new blogger in the hot seat!
So…let the games begin!
If you had to sum up your blog in two sentences, what would you say?
Liv, Laugh, Love is a reflective, sometimes serious, sometimes sarcastic look at all things motherhood. The name is inspired by my 20 month-old daughter, Olivia, who has a big brother, my stepson (“the boy”), whom I write about as well.
What thing did you do today as a parent you wish you could take back and do over?
I let Liv play with my iPhone . . .again. How many people does she have to randomly call or text before I learn that she knows how to turn off airplane mode?
What thing did you do today that you are happiest about?
I love low-key Saturdays hanging out with my daughter and husband. Today was the first weekend day in several weeks that we didn’t have a thousand things to do. Watching and listening to Liv yell “touchdown” during the playoff games was priceless.
What is your least favorite activity to do with your children?
Of course, it is a frequent activity, but I don’t love changing diapers. It’s not the waste part that bothers me; it’s just the flailing, kicking little legs. I probably will miss it once potty training begins.
What is your most favorite activity to do with your children?
I love cuddling with Liv and watching sports with both Liv and “the boy”. Liv just learned to say “Bluejay” for the Creighton Bluejays, and I just melt every time I hear her say it!
When your child drives you absolutely crazy and you want to scream a curse word, which word do you wish you could say?
The F-word is so versatile. It’s a personal favorite. Since it’s not a great word to shout in front of children, I go with SpongeBob’s “tartar sauce”.
What’s your favorite lie you have ever told your child?
I don’t lie much to Liv besides the “it’s all gone” variety when she wants more sugary snacks. We don’t have too many deep conversations since she’s not quite two. I do intend on telling her she’s allergic to cats. Besides, why would you ever want a cat when you have dogs? Dogs > cats. Period.
At what moment did you realize that you really were grown up?
When I realized taking a shower or using the bathroom alone is a privilege, and when I decided drinking fake cups of tea and answering fake phones from my little girl is, without a doubt, my favorite way to spend a Friday night.

Such a great idea! I love discovering new bloggers!!!!
Glad you found us! Hope you’ll stick around!
Love how you spend your Friday nights – priceless! And hearing Go Bluejays from your kids is so much fun!
This is a great series – thanks for sharing!
Thanks for including me, Dani! I love the series and discovering new bloggers. Julie, I think she needed to cheer a little more last Saturday! Oh well! She’s still a Jays’ fan just like her mama!
We loved having ya!
This is a great one!!! Love the Sponge Bob reference
Hilarious, isn’t it?
Spongebob is a staple in our house. She even “plays” her nose at the end of the theme, has a “Bob Bob” (Liv’s name for him) toothbrush and jammies. I swore I’d never give in to character, commercial driven madness, but she’s too cute!
I LOVE this idea as a series and can totally relate to the last question — my new normal is showering with an open shower curtain and having a constant companion in the bathroom.
Thanks for reading! The series is actually all booked until 2014 but later in the year, I’ll put a call out to bloggers for next year.
