Martinis and Minivans is a blog for anyone who has ever needed a martini after driving a minivan around all day. Or for anyone who has just ever needed a martini. Written by Danielle Herzog, it’s the adventures of a New Yorker now living the Midwest life as a somewhat sarcastic writer, mother and member of one ridiculously insane large Italian family.
And by insane, I am referring to aunts that still pinch your cheeks, and uncles who think it is endearing to slap my husband’s face when they say hello. I have about thirty cousins whose names are Godfather characters.
I’ve been freelance writing since graduating sometime in the 1990′s. I’ve written everything from restaurant reviews, to the style section, to product reviews and how-to’s, and now parenting. I’ve had the pleasure of writing for some great folks like: The Chicago Tribune, The Huffington Post, Nickelodeon’s NickMom, Mamalode, AOL, What to Expect, the Omaha World Herald’s Momaha site, as well as other national and local sites and publications. If it is part of my life, I’ll share it. And if it isn’t, I’ll just change the names to protect the not-so-innocent.
I also write a weekly parenting advice column with a sassy edge called “The Sassy Housewife” for Momaha, that is also featured every Thursday in the Living section of The Omaha World Herald.
